Université de Bretagne Occidentale de Brest

Université de Bretagne Occidentale is a public university for academic and applied research, having a great potential in research based on 1000 researchers working in 45 research labs. UBO enrols more than 17000 students and 5100 trainees on further education courses every year. The university employs 2400 personnel. The development of Lifelong Learning (LLL) has been one of the main objectives of the university since 1998. The LLL department (called SUFCEP), which was created in 1973, receives every year more than 5000 adults and offers different services. One of the most important is the office dedicated to recognition of prior learning (RPL) and management of people going back to University in order to obtain a national diploma (B, M or D level). Since 2002, this office has organised more than 1600 RPL juries. At the national level, our university is very involved in the French national network for LLL (www.fcu.fr). At the European level, our university is an active member of the European University Continuing Network (EUCEN).

With its strong experience in the field of Lifelong Learning and RPL, at local, national and European levels, UBO will provide its expertise throughout the project. Its action will result in the transmission of a methodology that has proven itself, the support for strategic analysis, and the formation of future Russian experts. Moreover, UBO will rely on its experience on the European project “IDEAL”.
